This is the Jeff Booth Show for May 4th, 2008, brought to you by the Center for Sexual Expression and Education, and Erotic University.  I’m Jeff Booth. We started this show a year ago last May, and in honor of that we reprise a musical number from our very first show. We also hang out on the set of Not the Bradys XXX: Marcia, Marcia, Marcia, and talk with Aurora Snow, who plays middle child Jan. Our Sexvestigation uses our imaginary hidden microphone to capture a briefing on the tactics used by Crises Pregnancy Centers, and all of the tactics you hear described are actually used. There are twice as many Crises Pregnancy Centers in this country than there are Pregnancy health Centers, and after listening you’ll know why that is a really really bad situation. Finally, our sex in politics news roundup presents Crazy Pastor vs. Crazy Reverend, the death of a Madame, Elliot Spitzer call girl scandal mysteries revealed, and a surprising lawsuit from the woman named in the call girl scandal. Just click on the topic to the left that you want to listen to, and thanks for clicking in.

Welcome to another edition of America’s favorite game show, CRAZY PASTOR VS. CRAZY REVEREND. On todays’ show, it’s a fierce competition between Obama’s declared spiritual advisor Reverend Jeremiah Wright, and John McCain’s declared spiritual advisor Pastor John Hagee. All right, let’s play. Round 1: Reverend Wright claimed that AIDS is a government conspiracy against black people. Pretty crazy. Pastor Hagee is going to have to work hard to catch up with that strong opening.  Pastor Hagee said just last week "Your daughter can get an abortion in public school without telling you but she can't get an aspirin without your approval." (bell dinging) The judges call it a tie. Round 2:  Reverend Wright said God Damn America. Pastor Hagee said that God has cursed and doomed America. Again, equal damnation, so it’s a tie. Round 3: Reverend Wright claimed that the United States brought on the September 11th attacks through its aggressive foreign policy. Pastor Hagee claimed that America’s problems are caused because America is a pagan society, where public school teachers can force their students to study a "precursor to witchcraft" and have invited "satan" and demonic spirits into public schools by failing to display the Ten Commandments on classroom walls.  The clear win on that one goes to Pastor Hagee. Now its time for our playoff round, which really decides the contest, as the judges are the Mainstream Media pundits. The winner is the religious leader whose crazy comments get most closely linked with the candidate by political commentators, who is found guilty by association of sharing those craze beliefs even if they denounce them.  First up, Reverend Wright and Obama. Even though Obama has completely rejected Wright and denounced his association with him, there is 24 hour pundit coverage inferring that Obama has a secret Reverend inspired agenda. Now up, Pastor John Hagee and John McCain. John McCain has criticized some of Hagee’s comments, such as calling the Catholic Church the Whore of Babylon, but still supports him and is happy for his backing. And the mainstream political commentators say: (sound of crickets) And the winner, not even close, Reverend Wright. (Bing, bing, bing) The loser, pretty much all of us.

The DC Madame is dead. Apparently of a suicide. I know its easy to jump to the conclusion that maybe she and one of her employees, former University of Maryland professor Brandy Britton, who also committed suicide, did not actually die at their own hands. They did know things about powerful people. But considering her prospects of possible life in prison, I don’t find it impossible to believe that she killed herself. And Britton killed herself before having to face a humiliating trial. Deborah Jeane Palfrey was a smart and tough woman who chose to make money in what many of us believe is far more honorable than the way, say, KBR makes money. In the case of KBR, they allow employees to rape other employees, but since no money exchanges hands and the women don’t actually lower themselves by consenting, the Justice Department doesn’t prosecute. They went after Palfrey hard, though, as well as her sex workers. The main question is why- when corporate crimes are barely prosecuted due to budget shortfalls, are they expending all of this money on an enterprise that barely made $2 million over 13 years- an unusually small case for a federal racketeering and money laundering prosecution. The trial was lurid, with condescending and often bizarre questions of 15 terrified former sex workers, exploring the sex acts in detail. As many have noted, it was more a slut shaming than a questioning of witnesses.  What the sexual details have to do with what is essentially a money laundering case is difficult to understand, unless humiliating the women is just part of the fun for prosecutors. They dragged out and outed women who had not worked for Palfrey in years, including a 63 year old retired PhD, a young naval officer whose career will now be ended, and a mother of three who worked briefly for Palfrey 15 years ago. The prosecution made clear that they intend to publicly name all 132 of Palfrey’s former employees, something that shocked even the judge. What the Feds did not do was go after or name her powerful clients, such as Republican Senator David Vitter.  Nor did they leak any names, the opposite of what they did in the prostitution case involving New York Governor Eilliot Spitzer, a leak they did even before any charges at all in the case were filed.

The Spitzer case stands in direct contrast to the Palfrey case. It seems to have been used to directly target a sitting Democratic politician. It still remains a mystery how it all started, but new powers granted the government under the Patriot act are claimed to be involved. When the case first came it, it was made to appear that it was just a coincidence that the Feds went after Spitzer after accidentally uncovering mysterious bank records on him. I said at the time, considering the Justice Department’s well-documented targeting of Democratic officials, that I found that hard to believe and stated that he was specifically targeted for political reasons. Even my wife thought I was being a bit of a conspiracy nut. Except that the Feds almost never go after the clients of prostitutes. And now, if Republican political consultant Roger Stone can be believed, I was right. He claims that he is the one that turned the Feds onto Spitzer. In a just aired interview on   New York 1’s Inside City Hall, he claims that he learned about Spitzer’s use of prostitutes from a hooker at a swing club in Florida. We know that Stone is a swinger from the ads he and his wife took out, which created a public scandal a few years ago. The problem I have with his revelation is not with the claim that he is the one who told the Feds, but about how he learned about it. Swing clubs are extremely hinky about having prostitutes on the premises, and it seems unlikely that one would be at a club openly talking about her profession. Most clubs upon learning that you were a prostitute would escort you out because they are very concerned about the police using prostitution as an excuse to raid the club. And chatting about clients is something that you really aren’t supposed to do, and no escort service would ever use you if it came out that you were outing clients. This is the same Roger Stone who was fired last year by state Senate Republicans after making threatening calls to Spitzer’s ailing father, again involving a government prosecution. Stone denies making the call, except that it was trced back to his home and the voice message is in his voice, he actually claims that someone broke into his home and impersonated his voice. I don’t give him high marks for credibility, and he is actually an insult to the many fine swingers I know, and the case just gets curioser and curioser.

And in another bizarre twist in the Spitzer prostitution case, the name of the woman he hired has been made public, and now she is suing. Ashley Dupree is suing Joe Francis, the sleazeball behind the Girls Gone Wild series. He was negotiating a $1 million dollar offer with her to appear in Girls Gone Wild magazine, then discovered that he already had video of her and dropped the offer. Expected behavior from a guy who got rich by not paying women to perform on camera.  It turns out, however, that she was only 17 when he shot her. And she claims they plied her with alcohol. Francis has already gotten into  lots of hot water over his filming of underage girls. She is suing him for $10 million and I hope she gets it. At least one woman should get some money out of the sleazy Girls Gone Wild empire. I have no problem with paying women to get naked on camera, but GGW makes its money by taking advantage of inebriated women and doesn’t give them a dime. Francis said “I think it's ironic that she charged Gov. Spitzer $2,000 for sex and she wants to charge me 10 million for taking some naked pictures of her.”  Besides having Alanis Morisette’s understanding of the word ironic, he seems unaware that Spitzer paid her for a private session, not to make money off of her. Francis makes pimps look respectable in comparison.

Why is it that the party of family values seems to be having all of the fun when it comes to sex scandals? It apparently goes back a ways. Barbara Walters has just revealed that she had a years long affair with a Massachusetts Republican Senator back in the 70’s. Senator Edward Brooke was also the first elected black Senator. Kudos, though, to Walters for being a U.S. citizen fucking a politician, when it is usually just the reverse.

Our hidden microphone goes behind the scenes at a Crises Pregnancy Center’s orientation for new employees.

I’m Joe Manly, welcome to your first day on the job. Here at the Pregnancy Health Center, your job is to keep women from having abortions. We are what is known as a CPC, a Crises Pregnancy Center. Like most CPCs, we get money from the federal government, and as is the cae in 17 states, from the DMV through sales of License plates that say “Choose Life”. Of course, people n the other sie are not allowed their “Choose death” license plates. Now, since we are doing the Lord’s work with all that government money, you need to understand some of the tactics we use to do that work. Similar tactics are used by CDCs all over the country, don’t worry bout it.

Young man: I have a question- I thought there would be more women here.

That’s not really a question. The most important thing is to get young frightened women into the door before they get in the door of an actual pregnancy health center. Here we don’t actually do health care, we save babies. Our first technique is what I call Click Your Way to Heaven. This was inspired by a CPC in Wisconsin, which bought the URL fphs.com. The URL for the local pregnancy health center, Wisconsin Family Planning Services, is fphs.org.  Method two is what I call There Goes the Neighborhood. CPCs like ours move onto the same street as the pregnancy health center, sometimes even next door, with similar signage. If a young woman walks in thinking she has an appointment here when it is really at the nearby demon palace, you act as if she is expected.

If she says she is thinking about having an abortion, give her a bible and pray with her. Explain that she is a sinner. Tell her that abortion leads to breast cancer, infertility and Mental illness. Scare the devil out of her, and I mean that literally.

Young man: What if she wants information on contraception?

You can tell her to go to the devil, whom I am sure would be glad to give it to her. No, I’m just kidding, we don’t give out nay information ion contraception.

Any of you here have any actual medical training? Good, no hands went up. But don’t worry. Our medical procedures are easy and I will explain them.

We do offer free pregnancy tests. Have her pee in a cup. While she is waiting, she has to watch our video. We use same one used by many CPCs. The video explains that doctors who perform abortions graduate at the bottom of their class, abortion often results in injury and even death, and it causes severe psychological damage. Women who have abortions have endless nightmares of babies crying and continuing depression.

Young man: Excuse me, but is all that true?

Just don’t you worry about it. God is the only truth we are concerned with here.

Now, as to the procedure. While she is watching the video, carefully take the cup and pour it down the drain. Then report to her that she is not pregnant. If she is pregnant and wants an abortion, this will delay her taking action, and the longer she delays, the less likely she is to get an abortion.

Young man: Excuse me, but is this all legal?

You ask a lot of questions for a good Christian man, son. It’s all absolutely legal. For now. The devil has been whispering in the ear of Senator Robert Menendez, who introduced a bill in Congress last April Fool’s Day to ban what he calls our  “deceptive advertising practices”. But that is more about our advertising that we offer abortion and medical services when we don’t, and shouldn’t effect the other intervention techniques that we use.

The other medical option we have is a free ultrasound. Again, this is easy, since we aren’t showing them an actual ultrasound of their baby but one of a much more developed baby. Scares the crap out of them and makes them think twice about an abortion.

Now we do offer some financial assistance to women who choose to carry the baby to term. That assistance in our case and in the case of some other clinics is limited to the moment she is no longer able to legally have an abortion in her state. But I would not exactly explain that to her up front.

It is great to see all you bright shining faces. All right. Get ready to put America’s tax dollars to work
